On the blog this month – April

This week saw my obsession with baked goods scale up considerably, and my recipe posts definitely reflected that! My colleagues at work have gotten to the point where they’re a) partially convinced I lace my cakes and treats with some kind of drug, because they can never say “no” b) worried about their waistlines and c) have major internal conflicts going on between a and b!

With that in mind, I’ve been scaling back the baking plans and focussing on some breakfast recipes instead for next month – I’ve been working on several oatmeal creations, plus a protein pancake adaptation and a smoothie bowl idea has been pulling at my brain so… breakfasts, rather than baking. Still begins with a ‘b’ though…

But let’s get back to what I posted in April, and take a look at what you might have missed:

As I mentioned, there was a lot more baking recipes than usual (all Vegan, so completely free of egg, dairy and honey):

And just a couple savoury recipes (all vegan)

As for non-recipe posts (because I do exist outside of the kitchen – have a full time, non-food related job, in fact!) I also continued my unintentional series on transitioning to a plant based/vegan/cruelty-free (whatever term you want to use!) lifestyle with a little ramble about how I gave up dairy, especially the usual favourite suspects: cheese and chocolate in ‘My transition to cruelty-free: giving up all dairy‘. If you’re considering giving up dairy, or even going vegan, let me know if I can be of any help! You can comment below or find me on social media (links to them are in the sidebar, or below the post).

This month’s most popular posts

This month’s top three posts across the board? I was a little surprised! I always thought Oatmeal & Raisin cookies were my favourite, but that generally speaking most folks preferred anything of the chocolate variety, but, the views have spoken:

Lemon, Peach & Thyme Muffins

And that’s a wrap, folks! Let me know if you like this kind of thing – I’ve not done it before, but I found it quite useful myself – especially checking out what you’re all reading the most! Did you have a favourite recipe this month? Let me know below!
